Using GPS
Being particularly interested in ATV in the microwave bands,
having a clear line of sight to other the Amateur Television Repeater and other Amateurs is essential
Using a Garmin GPS receiver it is possible to load it full with waypoints
This allows you to easily work out the heading and distance to the station you wish to work

Firstly you will need a Garmin Data lead to connect the Garmin GPS to your PC

Then I have complied a Garmin waypoint file of all the UK ATV repeaters here (August 2003)
UK Amateur Television repeaters 23 / 13 / 3 cm
This waypoint file 'ukatvaug2003.mps' needs to be used with a piece of software available from Garmin called
Mapsource (link to information & updates only - not the original software which needs to be purchased)
this allows to you to upload & download waypoints to the Garmin.

Psion Series 5 Using with GPS for ATV & Ham Radio

Psion Series 5

Using a Psion Series 5 Series 5 handheld computer I have been running Tom Tom's Route Planner and Citymaps route planning software
For my own use I have written a overlay file with all the UK Amateur Repeaters (12k) to be used in
conjunction with this program.
